Nazanin Zaghari returns to Evin Prison

Nazanin Zaghari, a British citizen of Iranian descent, returned to Evin Prison after three days of leave.

The British newspaper The Guardian reported on Sunday, September 25, quoting Richard Ratcliffe, Mrs. Zaghari's husband, that the Iranian government did not agree to Nazanin Zaghari's request to extend her temporary leave.

According to Richard Ratcliffe, Ms. Zaghari's lawyer has been trying to extend Nazanin Zaghari's three-day leave, but has not been successful.

Nazanin Zaghari was released from prison for three days on Thursday and joined her family in the suburbs of Tehran.

The head of Amnesty International's UK office described the developments surrounding Nazanin Zaghari's leave as regrettable and painful.

The Islamic Republic's Revolutionary Court has sentenced Nazanin Zaghari to five years in prison on charges of acting against national security and teaching journalism. Ms. Zaghari denies the charges.
