The first case of coronavirus in New York; "a woman who had traveled to Iran"

New York State has confirmed its first case of the novel coronavirus. The state's governor said the patient is a woman who had recently traveled to Iran and is currently quarantined at home.
New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Sunday night that the woman, who is in her late thirties, had recently traveled to Iran and was currently quarantined at home.
Mr. Cuomo did not mention where this citizen lives.
The New York governor added that the patient had some respiratory symptoms, but was not in critical condition and had been stable since returning to the United States.
So far, cases of infection with the new coronavirus in people who had traveled to Iran have been confirmed in Iran's neighboring countries and in some other parts of the world, including New Zealand.
Iran itself has the highest death toll after China, out of any other place in the world. However, the number of confirmed cases by the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Health (as of Monday morning, March 1) is 978.
In the United States, 71 citizens have been confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, so far.
The country currently has two deaths. The second person, like the first, is a resident of Washington state.
US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that travelers coming from countries at high risk of contracting the coronavirus will be screened both before boarding the plane and after entering the country.
US government officials have emphasized that the number of masks and test kits available for coronavirus testing will increase.
