Narges Mohammadi suffers from infection; Taghi Rahmani: My wife is deprived of antibiotics

Narges Mohammadi, a civil rights activist imprisoned in Iran who was transferred to prison after undergoing uterine surgery despite doctors' warnings, has been denied antibiotics.

Taghi Rahmani, the husband of imprisoned civil activist Narges Mohammadi, announced on her Twitter page on Sunday, June 3, that Narges Mohammadi had developed an infection after uterine surgery and had not been given antibiotics so far.

He further wrote that "Narges Mohammadi needed a month's leave for treatment at the request of doctors, but was returned to prison."

It was previously reported that the civil activist was returned to prison after surgery, despite doctors' warnings.

This civil activist, who needs medical care, had previously protested about the lack of access to appropriate medical services, but so far, his medical leave has not been approved.

The disagreement with Ms. Mohammadi's medical leave comes at a time when, according to Ms. Mohammadi's lawyer, her client has served 6 years and eight months of her 10-year sentence and is eligible for parole.
