The Tehran Red Crescent announced the possibility of an increase in the number of victims and missing persons, as the body of the seventh victim of the flooding in Tehran, which occurred on the morning of Thursday, August 26, was found.

At the same time, the search for more victims is underway, and according to officials, this number is likely to increase in the coming hours.

In an interview with ISNA news agency, Qodratollah Mohammadi, head of the Tehran Fire Department, said that there is no accurate estimate of the losses and financial losses from the recent flood, adding that shops, businesses, and commercial units in the area have suffered heavy damage.

A spokesman for the country's emergency organization had previously announced that following heavy rain on Wednesday evening, flooding had entered the Imamzadeh Davoud area in western Tehran at 2 a.m., causing landslides.

Amid speculation about the possibility of an increase in the number of victims of the Imamzadeh Davoud flood, relief forces warned residents of the area about the possibility of increased rainfall on Thursday evening and urged residents to evacuate their homes immediately.

Meanwhile, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society announced the transfer of 1,000 residents of the Kan region to safe areas. Mehr News Agency reported that these people have been resettled in "crisis zones."

Earlier, Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi, who visited the flooded areas on Thursday morning, announced that the depth of mud in some areas was three to four meters.

Due to the continued and increasing rainfall in Tehran, some parks in western Tehran will be closed on Thursday. For example, the mayor of District 5 has announced that the two parks, "Javanmardan" and "Kuhsar", will be closed from 4:00 PM until further notice.

Adel Mossadeghi, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Roads in Tehran Province, also announced an "orange" weather warning, indicating heavy rain and the possibility of flooding in Tehran Province, and urged citizens not to go near rivers.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that some of the roads leading to Tehran, including Haraz, Karaj-Chalos, and Imamzadeh Davoud, will be closed until further notice.

In addition to the western regions of Tehran, the eastern regions of the capital were not spared from the consequences of the flooding on Wednesday evening. According to reports, following heavy rain last night in Damavand County, the overflowing of the "Siahroud" River in Roudehen has caused flooding, inundation, and extensive financial losses in the region.

Meanwhile, Reza Taherkhani, the governor of Damavand, has reported the death of a citizen in this area and damage to a large number of livestock and vehicles in the area.
