Poor physical condition of Nahid Shaghaghi, women's rights activist, in Ward 209 of Evin Prison

Nahid Shaghaghi, a civil activist who was arrested by security agents 16 days ago and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison, is not in good physical condition due to a history of illness.
Kaveh Shaghaghi, brother of Nahid Shaghaghi, wrote on his Instagram on Thursday, June 29: "My sister Nahid Shaghaghi is still in limbo after two weeks of detention, and prison officials are not responding to the family's repeated requests. This is despite the fact that Nahid has a history of spinal injuries and in her last contact from prison, she complained of severe pain in her vertebrae and tailbone due to sitting for long periods during interrogations."
Previously, Nahid Shaghaghi's mother had expressed concern about her daughter's condition in a video file.
Nahid Shaghaghi is one of the arrested members of the Voice of Iranian Women. Over the past few years, she has given lectures on violence against women at the Voice of Iranian Women group's seminars.
Akram Nasirian, another member of the Voice of Iranian Women, who was arrested on the street by security agents on Monday, May 29, and transferred to Evin Prison, was temporarily released from prison on June 25 after posting bail until the end of the trial.
In February last year, Amnesty International called 2018 – in which 112 women's rights activists were arrested in Iran – the Islamic Republic's "year of shame" in a report.
