Rev. William Franklin Graham, the most famous and well-known evangelical Christian preacher in American history, died last Wednesday, March 2, after a long battle with lung cancer.
The title of the spiritual father of America was given to him because of his deep knowledge of the Word of God and his continuous efforts and pursuit in spreading and evangelizing it. His entire effort throughout his life was to bring the Word of God, His unique message and His great work to the ears of the people. In this way, his simple and fluent expression and his numerous travels made many eager for the true Word of God.
Inspired by God's message, he reached out to all walks of life and to many faiths. His persistence and strong will in the important cause of evangelism were so admirable that the then President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, presented him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1983. He was also deeply respected and supported by the last seven US presidents, Nixon, Gerald Ford, Carter, Bush, Bush II, Obama, and Trump.
It is good to know that Billy Graham was the spiritual father of America, because he tried every day to become more like Jesus Christ, and his only role model was God and His pleasing Word, and he now rests in peace in Jesus Christ.
