Joseph Hospian to VOA: I made the film "We Will Win" in support of the "Iranian Popular Uprising"

Joseph Hospian, an Iranian writer, director, and producer based in Los Angeles, released a short film in support of the nationwide protests in Iran.
This work of fiction is called "We Will Win," and its publication on social media has met with favorable reactions from Iranian and non-Iranian users.
Joseph Hospian tells VOA: "This is the fourth video project I have made in recent months with the aim of supporting the popular uprising in Iran, and I am very happy that it has been noticed and has had an impact."
He further adds that the positive reactions from the audience have made him focus more on issues related to Iran and continue this path seriously.
According to Joseph Hospian, as a filmmaker living outside of Iran, it is very important for him to be with the Iranian people during such a sensitive time and use his abilities to reflect their voices.
He emphasizes that all Iranians should use every tool they can to make the voices of the Iranian people heard louder abroad so that we can achieve our desired results of "victory" and "freedom" sooner.
Mr. Hospian, noting that he was deeply saddened by the news of the recent executions by the Islamic Republic, says that he did not want the film to focus solely on the "barbaric crimes" of this regime.
According to this Iranian director, depicting execution scenes is not pleasant at all, and he intended to look at this process from a different perspective.
In the story "We Will Win," a young girl witnesses the execution of a protester from a small window of her house, and her father must explain this horrific event to her, but he uses a trick to liken the execution to a game.
According to Joseph Hospian, the message of the film is that "we will ultimately win this game, this battle, and despite paying a heavy price, with courage and perseverance, we will continue until victory and we will not be disappointed."
He further adds that after the film was released online, the hashtag "We will win" was shared repeatedly by Iranian users for a while.
This short work mentions the names of Mahsa Amini, Mohsen Shekari, Nika, Majidreza Rahnavard, Morteza Ghaderi, Mahboobeh Mousavi, and a number of other Iranian protesters.
Joseph Hospian is the son of Hayk Hospian, an Armenian priest, bishop of the Congregational Church of Iran, and human rights activist who was murdered in Iran in 1993.
He mentions that accepting his father's death was very difficult, but says that the incident also made him better understand the pain of losing loved ones.
This Iranian director says that just as his father fought for freedom of expression and human rights and died for it, he, as a Christian Armenian, even though he may have different thoughts or beliefs than others, considers it his duty to fight for the important and common cause of freedom and to stand by the people of Iran.
Joseph Hospian emphasizes that he will continue on this path until final victory and supports the Iranian freedom movement by creating diverse works of art.
