Yazd was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The historic city of Yazd was registered on Sunday, July 8, as the first historic city in Iran and the twenty-second historical monument in Iran on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The registration of the old part of Yazd city took place during the 41st session of the Cultural Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Krakow, Poland.
