A representative revealed that "fear of Corona" prevented the parliament from approving the overall budget

While the members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in an unprecedented move, refused to approve the 2020 budget in general, a member of parliament said that the members voted against the budget in general out of fear of the coronavirus.

In a public session on Monday, March 25, members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly rejected the general outlines of next year's budget, postponing its review until next year and forcing the government to present a budget of several twelfths (a budget for several months of the year).

The rejection of the overall budget in the parliament occurred while a member of parliament told the ISNA news agency that the members rejected the overall budget out of fear of contracting the coronavirus, "because otherwise the parliament sessions would have continued in two shifts every day."

The representative also said that upon entering the parliament, their body temperature was checked, and in this regard, three representatives were told not to enter the parliament, but they entered the session despite this advice, one of whom was Mr. Amirabadi, a representative from Qom.

Ahmad Amirabadi, a member of parliament from Qom who left the parliament session on Monday due to ill health, told reporters on the sidelines of a public session that about 50 people had died in Qom from the coronavirus in the past two weeks. Iran’s Health Ministry denied these claims.
