Cairo: Attacker of Coptic Church Received Orders from Muslim Brotherhood

Egypt’s Ministry of Interior announced that the attacker of Coptic churches in Cairo had received orders from the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to ISNA, citing the Arab Sky News network, Egypt’s Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: The attacker of the main Coptic cathedral in Cairo received orders from the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood to carry out suicide attacks against Christians.

The statement indicated that some suspects in this explosion have been identified, and investigation results showed that the designer of this suicide attack was “Mahab Mustafa al-Sayed Qassem,” who had joined the “Ansar Bait al-Maqdis” group and received support from this group to destabilize the country.

Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of Egypt, also announced on Monday that the attacker was a 22-year-old young man who had strapped an explosive belt to himself.

He called on the government and parliament to take more effective measures to combat terrorism.
