Suicide statistics for 2012 have been kept secret until now.

The head of the Iranian Association of Social Workers announced that suicide statistics from 1401 to the present have been kept confidential.
Hassan Mousavichalak, the head of the Iranian Social Workers Association, stated in a report: "Suicide statistics in 1401 and after are confidential, but I can say that the number of deaths increased. In general, the trend of deaths due to suicide attempts in the country is increasing. In the area of suicide, the trend we are going through in Iran is worrying."
According to confidential reports, after the start of the popular revolution that began with the government killing of Mahsa Amini, the suicide rate among the Iranian people increased. Many of those arrested during the nationwide protests, including women, men, teenagers, young people, and even middle-aged people, were tortured and even raped after their arrest. Many of those who had been raped committed suicide after their release, and some could not bear the cruelty due to other tortures they had been subjected to and committed suicide. Many also died in prisons, which were attributed to suicide. For this reason, the suicide rate in 1401 and after the popular revolution has remained confidential until now.
"This confidential statistic, the number of which is not known, is very worrying, and these concerns come at a time when, according to Hassan Mousavi's reports, according to official statistics in Iran in 2017, about 4,625 deaths due to suicide attempts were officially registered, and in 2013 the number reached 6,244. But this statistic in 2013 is still confidential, I can only say that their number has increased and is increasing, which is very worrying."
He also added, explaining which provinces have the highest suicide rates and deaths from suicide: "The northwestern provinces of the country have a very difficult situation compared to other provinces."
According to his statements, the northwestern provinces of the country include Kermanshah, Ilam, Kurdistan, Lorestan, Ardabil, and many others. According to these statistics, the provinces with the highest suicide rates were the provinces where the most repression of the people by the regime took place in the past year.
