Zahedan's air pollution level reached 40 times the permissible limit

The Director General of the Meteorological Department of Sistan and Baluchestan Province announced on Thursday that the air pollution level in Zahedan has reached 40 times the permissible limit.
Mohsen Heidari told ISNA news agency that the concentration of suspended particles in the air of Zahedan and the spread of dust are so high that the horizontal visibility radius has decreased to 200 meters in some areas.
He attributed the increase in air pollution in Zahedan to the formation of a huge dust cloud in the plains bordering Pakistan, which has penetrated into Zahedan with the wind.
Air pollution in Iranian metropolises has become an environmental problem in recent years, and a number of experts are criticizing the performance of the Islamic Republic's officials in this regard.
