New charges against imprisoned lawyer in Iran: Worrying public opinion by writing a letter to the Supreme Leader of Iran

A lawyer imprisoned in Arak was once again accused of "disturbing public opinion" for writing a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian Human Rights Campaign reported that Mohammad Najafi, a lawyer imprisoned in Arak, was transferred to the Shazand Judicial Investigation Branch on December 19, this time charged with "disturbing public opinion" for writing a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
This indictment was issued to Mr. Najafi while he was serving a three-year prison sentence in Arak Prison.
In September of this year, Najafi published a letter addressed to Ayatollah Khamenei on his Facebook page criticizing the policies of the Islamic Republic, stating: "Mr. Khamenei, our generation is your successor."
According to the Human Rights Campaign, this imprisoned lawyer in Iran was transferred to Arak Prison in November of this year, two months after writing this letter, without receiving a response to his request for a retrial.
Also, Payam Darfashan, Mohammad Najafi's lawyer, said about his new accusation that a new case is opened for Mr. Najafi every day with repeated accusations. He had previously been sentenced to two years in prison in the Revolutionary Court for insulting the Leader. Now, in another branch, he has been accused of disturbing public opinion for another letter to the Leader. This means nothing more than harassment.
The imprisoned lawyer has been charged with the repeated charge of "disturbing public opinion" in his fourth case, despite having previously been sentenced to four years in prison. He was also sentenced to 10 years in prison in his third case.
He was arrested last year after providing information about Vahid Heydari, one of the protesters who died in a detention center in Arak last January.
