From the Tomb of Cyrus to the Detention Center
FCNN News Agency: A spontaneous gathering of thousands of Iranians in Pasargadae led to the arrest of a number of them as norm-breakers.
Speaking to reporters, Shiraz Prosecutor Ali Salehi announced the arrest of individuals who were the main perpetrators of the rally, calling the slogans raised by the participants anti-values.
According to Salehi, those arrested will be tried according to the law.
According to FCNN, it is not yet clear what values were threatened in this rally that deserve legal and judicial action. Judicial authorities have not released any information on this matter.
One of the witnesses to the rally emphasized in an interview with FCNN that the Cyrus Charter was the focus of the slogans raised that day.
Ibrahim, who did not want his full name to be revealed, added: "Human freedom, freedom of religion, solidarity, and peace are ideals that are being ignored in Iran these days."
Referring to the arbitrary arrests of non-Muslim religious activists and politicians critical of the Islamic Republic government, he stated: "It seems that Iranian authorities are not satisfied with such arrests and even consider non-political movements and the celebration of men of history, literature, and culture to be crimes."
However, the efforts of thousands of people to bypass the blocked routes to Pasargadae prove that the regime's violent actions in these cases have the opposite effect. Especially since the majority of the participants in the rally were young people, and it seems that the significant presence of young girls and boys in Pasargadae has frightened the authorities.
The arrest of Mohammad Reza Aali Payam, alias Halo, a poet and satirist critic, at this rally, is, according to this citizen, a clear example of the regime's hasty and stifling reactions to popular movements. He emphasized that the poet was arrested by security officers present at the event after reciting his poem.
This citizen predicts that many of those who were apparently with the people at the aforementioned gathering filmed the ceremony in order to identify them.
This gathering, without declared political goals, was held next to the tomb of Cyrus, the founder of the Achaemenid dynasty, on the anniversary of his birth.
The tomb of Cyrus is located about one kilometer southwest of the palaces of Pasargadae. This complex is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
