Forced marriage; suicide of an 18-year-old girl in Yasuj

On Saturday, February 25, an 18-year-old girl living in Yasuj committed suicide by hanging herself after opposing forced marriage.

According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, on Saturday, February 25, 2020, a young girl living in Sarabtavah, located in the city of Yasuj, committed suicide and lost her life.

The identity of this citizen, "Anahita Shahidi," 18 years old and from Sepidar village, Boyer Ahmad province, has been verified by HRANA.

According to an informed source, Ms. Shahidi committed suicide by hanging herself while she was alone at home, in opposition to the forced marriage that had been arranged for her to her cousin.
