Nationwide protests; Five detained citizens transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin

HRANA News Agency – Nazanin Rasouli, Reyhaneh Sadatian, and Marzieh Yousefzadeh were transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin after their arrest, along with Yalda Moeiri and Saeideh Mohammadi.

According to HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Nazanin Rasouli, Reyhaneh Sadatian, Marzieh Yousefzadeh, Yalda Moeiri, and Saeideh Mohammadi were transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin.

Nazanin Rasouli and Marzieh Yousefzadeh were recently arrested by security forces. Reyhaneh Sadatian, who had traveled to Tehran for treatment of urinary tract problems, was also arrested by security forces.

A source informed about Ms. Moairi's latest situation told HRANA: "Yalda Moairi has been deprived of her phone due to a message she recently posted while in detention."

Yalda Moeiri and Saeideh Mohammadi were also arrested in Tehran on September 20th.

The Shahrivar protests of 1401 (Shahrivar 1402) refer to a series of nationwide protests that began on 16th of September following the death of a 22-year-old girl named Mahsa (Zina) Amini as a result of the actions of the moral security police patrol in Tehran, and spread to at least 85 cities and 18 universities in 29 provinces of the country by 1st of Mehr 1401 (Mehr 1402). These protests, which are still ongoing, have so far led to the arrest of hundreds of people and the killing and injury of dozens of protesters, including children.

Media outlets close to security agencies published forced confessions from a number of detainees, accusing the defendants of committing violence. The Iranian government also disrupted the internet nationwide, both at home and on mobile phones.
