Poisoning returns to girls' schools

After months of cessation of incidents in schools, poisoning of students has returned to girls' schools.

Following the poisoning of students at the "Kowsar" girls' art school in Zanjan, a number of students were transferred to several hospitals.

While the results of investigations into similar incidents in schools across the country have not yet been announced after about a year since the chemical poisoning of girls in schools, the city of Zanjan witnessed a repeat of student poisoning yesterday. Following this poisoning, 67 students were taken to the hospital.

Yesterday, a report was sent to the Zanjan Provincial Education Department regarding poisoning of students at the Kausar Art School, and after the report, assessment teams arrived at the scene. According to Hassan Esmkhani, Director of Public Relations at the Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, a number of students were transferred to Ayatollah Mousavi Hospital, a number to Vali Asr Hospital, one student to Shahid Beheshti Hospital, and another student to Imam Hussein Hospital.

Hassan Ismkhani emphasized that the general condition of the students is currently good and that some of them have been discharged and others will be discharged in the coming hours.

The Director General of Education of Zanjan Province also emphasized that the health of students is one of the priorities of Zanjan Education and Training, adding: "The causes of yesterday's events are being investigated and the results will be made known to the public."
