The largest baptism in American history took place in California.

California last week held the largest baptism ceremony in American history.
On Saturday, May 3, the California Baptist Church held the largest single-day baptism ceremony in American history in Huntington Beach, with over 7,700 people baptized.
According to My Christian Daily, more than 300 churches across California came together and collaborated in the event. Prominent Christian worshippers also sang hymns during the event. Organizers of the event called it the largest water baptism in U.S. history, held in a single day.
Huntington Beach is one of the busiest beaches in Southern California, with over 6,000 people baptized on the beach last year, and this past week, the beach saw over 300 baptisms. Notably, a Satanist was also present at the ceremony.
"You can smell a great awakening like rain-soaked soil," pastor and founder Mark Francey told CBN News. "If God can do this miracle in a church in California, you can be sure it will happen all over America."
The church believes the event is more than just a simple ceremony, but a spiritual spark that will lead to a broader movement next month. Church leaders are also planning to hold the largest coordinated baptism in world history on June 8, the day of Pentecost.
