US Treasury Department sanctions 10 individuals and entities related to Iran

On Tuesday, November 10, the United States imposed sanctions on four individuals and six legal entities in the latest round of pressure from the Donald Trump administration on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Seyyed Mohammad Banihashemi Chehorm and Mohammad Soltanmohammadi from Iran, Sun Shi Mei and Huang Chin-hua from Taiwan are four real-life figures who have been included in the new US sanctions list.
The companies Artin Sanat Taban, Heda Trading, Naz Technology, Des International, Proma Industry, and Soltech Industry are also real figures that the US has sanctioned.
These individuals and companies are accused of establishing a network to supply sensitive goods needed by Iran's military sector, including American-made electronic components, to the Telecommunications Industries of Iran Company, which is under US sanctions.
The Iranian Telecommunication Industries Company produces military communications systems, electronic components, and missile launchers.
The Treasury Department's sanctions on Tuesday were imposed under a law that authorizes punishment for proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their supporters.
Based on these sanctions, the assets and property of the aforementioned individuals and legal entities in the United States will be confiscated, and no American person or company has the right to do business with them.
The new sanctions come days after reports indicated that the Donald Trump administration plans to impose a "flood" of sanctions on Iran by January 2021, when the new US president takes office.
According to these reports, these sanctions were set as a result of US cooperation with Israel and several Gulf countries.
The Axios website reported that the Trump administration and Israel want to make it harder for the Joe Biden administration to return to the JCPOA, the nuclear agreement between world powers and Iran, and that the new sanctions are designed in a way that they cannot be lifted even if the next US administration returns to the JCPOA.
Mr. Trump's administration, which was a staunch critic of the nuclear deal with Iran, withdrew from the agreement in May 2018 and has since imposed broad sanctions on Tehran, even including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic.
The US president has repeatedly said that he wants to reach a new agreement with Iran that simultaneously covers Tehran's nuclear and missile programs and its role in the region.
Islamic Republic officials rejected negotiations with the Donald Trump administration.
