Teachers gather in various cities in Iran; at least three teachers have been arrested

Teachers in Iran, at the call of the Coordination Council of Iranian Teachers' Unions, held protest rallies in various cities and in front of the Education Department.

 

According to reports from Iran, teachers have gathered to coincide with May 12, Teachers' Day in Iran. The gathering was held at the invitation of the Coordination Council of Iranian Teachers' Unions.

The Coordination Council of Teachers' Unions announced on its Telegram channel the arrest of three teachers.

According to reports from this council, teachers have gathered in the provinces of East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Alborz, Isfahan, Tehran, South Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Gilan, Hamedan, and Yazd.

The Coordination Council of Teachers' Unions had previously criticized "exploitative schemes such as full-time teachers," "a commercial view of schools," "low salaries," "non-payment of government debt," and the arrest of union activists in a call, and called for teachers to gather.
