Workers at a power plant in Ahvaz and a factory in Qazvin gather to protest non-payment of salaries

In the wake of union rallies and labor protests in Iran, employees of the Ramin Weiss power plant in Khuzestan stopped working and protested.

According to images and news published on social media, employees of this power plant in Ahvaz gathered on Wednesday, May 9, to protest the non-payment of their salaries and benefits.

In another rally, workers at the Iran Qotti factory in Qazvin also gathered in front of the Alvand city social security office on Tuesday to protest job and livelihood uncertainty.

These workers stated that they are in a bad situation due to not receiving their salaries and benefits.

In recent months, there have been several protest rallies by workers almost every day.

Some reports indicate that in the past year, around six thousand labor rallies have been held, mostly in protest of unpaid salaries for several months, mass layoffs, uncertainty following the transfer of factories to the private sector, and low wages.
