Drafting a special police bill for children and adolescents

The Islamic Consultative Assembly announced the bill to establish a "Children and Youth Police".

After the death sentences of several young people in protests and the issuance of death sentences to a number of other young people and teenagers, some of whom are under the age of 17, it is now time to form a special police force for children and teenagers.

According to Iran International News Agency, Hossein Ali Hajideligani, a member of the Parliament's Judicial Commission, said: "Representatives approved a bill to establish a special police force for children and adolescents, which will be formed under the direct supervision of the National Police Command."

So far, the security forces of the Islamic Republic have shot many underage children and adolescents, killing or seriously injuring them. The duty of the juvenile police is that if a child, young person, or adolescent commits a crime, they must contact the police before entering the criminal justice system so that their character can be dealt with appropriately. If these children and adolescents are not dealt with appropriately, it will have irreparable consequences for them in the future. Now, the formation of the "Special Police for Children and Adolescents" has been approved, while the performance of the police in Iran is inconsistent with such a duty.

Is there a need to form a juvenile and child police force in Iran, where the police do not care about the lives of children, adolescents, and the elderly and subject them to bullets and batons?
