10-year-old girl dies in Mashhad due to child abuse; two children die due to wall collapse in Mazandaran
Following the death of a ten-year-old girl due to assault, the Mashhad prosecutor's office announced the arrest of her stepmother.
According to IRNA, the ten-year-old girl died two nights ago in a hospital in Mashhad due to a fractured vertebra and internal bleeding.
The special homicide investigator at the Mashhad Prosecutor's Office said that the girl had no vital signs when she was taken to the hospital.
According to the investigator in the case, the girl lived with her father and stepmother, and her stepmother has been arrested.
After a ten-year wait, the Law on the Protection of Children and Adolescents was notified to government agencies on Saturday by Hassan Rouhani for implementation. According to this law, child abuse is recognized as a crime.
Wall collapses and two children die
According to ILNA news agency, on Saturday, the collapse of an old wall in a village in Sari County, Mazandaran, claimed the lives of two children.
In this incident, which took place at 7:00 PM in the village of "Velikkhal" in Sari County, two children, aged 10 and 8, were seriously injured and were taken to the hospital by local residents.
The report states that the victims of the incident died due to the severity of their injuries; the cause of the incident is being investigated by officers.
The village of Valikchal is located 90 kilometers from the city of Sari in the Dodangeh district.
