Details of the "horrific" raid by security officers on Sharif University

Continuing the suppression of nationwide protests in Iran, on Sunday evening, October 1, security forces, along with a large number of plainclothes forces, surrounded Tehran's Sharif University of Technology and attacked students. They beat and shot, injured or arrested an unknown number of students, and transferred them to unknown locations.
The Islamic Association of Sharif University published a report on its Twitter account on Monday morning about the "horrific" raid by security forces on the university, detailing the incident.
According to the report, protesting students on campus were confronted by plainclothes officers with several vans ready to arrest them upon reaching the door of the Faculty of Energy Engineering.
In the first encounter, security officers "arrest three students and send a fourth student to the hospital with a baton blow to the head," and this is the beginning of a widespread attack that continues with shooting with shotguns and paintballs.
The Islamic Association of Sharif University of Technology stated in its report that following the raid by security officers and plainclothes officers, students encountered closed university doors when trying to escape and found themselves surrounded by security forces.
As a result of this situation, students head to the university parking lot to escape the fight, but it is announced that the parking lot entrance door will not open either.
According to a report by the Islamic Association of Sharif University, at the same time, plainclothes forces were ambushing students on the first and second floors of the parking lot with batons, weapons, and motorbikes, and were stopping them from moving and arresting them by firing plastic bullets and shotgun pellets from close range, especially at the girls.
Meanwhile, another group of students trapped in the parking lot were injured by gunfire and rubber bullets. However, despite the tear gas, a number of students managed to "enter the Family Hypermarket through an elevator and escape."
The Islamic Association of Sharif University Students has written that at least 30 to 40 Sharif University students have been arrested so far, and the status of most of them is unknown.
This is despite the fact that in recent days, videos of threats made by some members of the university's student mobilization against protesting students had been released, promising to suppress the protests.
The report of last night's events continues by stating that the students trapped in the parking lot inevitably return to the campus, but again, "security forces with guns in their hands are watching the students and selectively pull a number of students out of the crowd and take them away."
As reported by the Islamic Association of Sharif University Students, plainclothes forces sometimes respond to the intervention of security forces or some university professors to prevent the arrest of students by beating them.
In the midst of these events, the publication of some videos of officers' raids on Sharif University on social media created a wave of concern among students' families and the general public, especially since it was reported that a large number of the students who were attacked were "students entering 1401 who were experiencing their second day at the university."
Following this announcement, it was reported that a number of people drove to Sharif University to help the students, which led to heavy traffic on the main streets around the university, and groups of people also reached the closed entrance of the university and chanted slogans demanding the release of the students.
Meanwhile, a video of Mohammad Ali Zulfigol, the Minister of Science in Ebrahim Raisi's government, was released at Sharif University, showing him responding to the protesting students by accusing them of wasting public funds and saying, "If you don't follow the law, you will have to pay the price."
Mr. Zelfigol also, in response to the students' complaints and protests about Rukhmi and their injuries by plainclothes and security forces, asks students not to take photos and videos for foreign media because "it is not worthy of an honorable student."
Following last night's raid by officers on Sharif University, and while reports indicated that the tense atmosphere continued, Rasoul Jalili, the president of Sharif University, claimed that "the students are doing well and the rally is over."
Mr. Jalili also advised the students' families not to be influenced by the lies factory of foreign media, he said.
Some reports have referred to Rasoul Jalili as one of the "architects of the Internet filtering project in Iran in the 1980s and one of the main promoters of filtering and the protection plan in recent years."
According to video reports from Tehran, the Sharif University area, especially the intersection of Yadegar Imam Highway and Azadi Street, was facing heavy traffic and a tense security atmosphere until an hour after midnight.
No official report has yet been released on the number of students arrested and their fate, the number of injured, or the official identity of the forces that attacked Sharif University on Sunday evening, October 10.
This is while, according to some reports, including announcements from the country's student union councils, a number of students at this university have also been arrested by security forces in the dormitory.
The organization wrote on its Telegram channel: "According to news received at 9:00 PM tonight, October 10, several students present in Sharif Dormitory No. 2 were arrested by security forces, put in a van, and taken to an unknown location."
The Sharif University of Technology website also announced in an announcement that "all classes at this university will be held virtually until further notice."
Nationwide protests of "Women, Life, Freedom" against the Iranian government began in many cities in Iran on September 16, when it was announced that Mahsa Amini had died in the custody of the "moral security" police, and are still ongoing after more than two weeks.
