Massive fire breaks out in one of the large warehouses on Karaj's special road

Reports indicate that a large fire broke out in a large warehouse on the Karaj Special Road, causing extensive damage, and the fire is still ongoing.

A spokesman for the Tehran Fire Department said on Monday, July 4, that the location of the fire was a large warehouse on the Karaj special road after the Azadegan Highway, where all kinds of goods, even household appliances, were stored.

Jalal Maleki told ISNA news agency that several sheds, each measuring about 600 or 700 square meters, are burning at this location.

He explained that "very thick smoke is visible in the western and southern areas of Tehran due to this fire," and said that firefighters had been dispatched to the scene, adding that there were no reports of injuries in the incident.

Cases of large fires in Iran have increased recently, with the fire at the Zarand Iranian Steel Plant in Kerman Province, the fire on the Kharg ship that led to its sinking, and the massive fire at the Tondgoyan Refinery in Tehran being among the most recent cases.

On July 23, a massive fire broke out in a warehouse near Tehran's bazaar.

Since last summer, there have also been several fires in Iran's forests and pastures, as well as incidents at some nuclear and missile centers and power plants, including the chemical industry factory on the outskirts of Qom.
