Hamed Ghare-oghlani was sentenced to death and 13 years and 3 months in prison.

Hamed Qara-oghlani, a political prisoner in Urmia Prison, was sentenced to death by Branch 2 of the Urmia Revolutionary Court. In the second part of his case, Mr. Qara-oghlani was also sentenced to 13 years and 3 months in prison by Branch 3 of the Urmia Revolutionary Court. This sentence was communicated to him in Urmia Prison this week. He was arrested on July 27 of this year by officers of the Urmia Intelligence Department and transferred to Urmia Prison on July 16 after the interrogations were completed.
According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Hamed Ghare-oghlani, a political prisoner in Urmia Prison, was sentenced to imprisonment and death by the Urmia Revolutionary Court.
Accordingly, Mr. Qara-Oghlani was sentenced to death by Branch 2 of the Urmia Revolutionary Court in the first part of his case on charges of war through membership in the People's Mojahedin of Iran Organization. He was also sentenced to 13 years and 3 months by Branch 3 of the Urmia Revolutionary Court in the second part of his case on charges of participating in military courses and attacking Basij bases, propagandizing against the system, insulting sacred places, and insulting the leadership.
This sentence was delivered to Mr. Qara-oghlani in Urmia Prison this week.
The court hearing to investigate Mr. Oghlani's charges was previously held on October 28 of this year at the Urmia Revolutionary Court.
Hamed Gharah-oghlani was previously arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence forces on July 27, 2020, and transferred to the security agency's detention center in Urmia. He was finally transferred to Urmia Prison on July 16, after the interrogation process was completed, and has been residing in Dormitory 3 of Urmia Prison since then.
Mr. Qara-oghlani, who was working as a CCTV camera installer before his arrest, withdrew from his master's degree in computer architecture at Shahid Beheshti University in 2016 for financial reasons and was trying to retake the master's exam this year. After withdrawing from the university, he went to Turkey to work for a while.
Qara-Oghlani's family is among those who died in the 8-year Iran-Iraq war. He also suffers from epilepsy.
