The risk of execution of the young accused in the Isfahan house case

The risk of execution threatens the lives of the young people accused in the Isfahan House case.

Majid Kazemi, Saleh Mirhashemi, and Saeed Yaqoubi are young people who participated in the protests on November 15, 1402 in Isfahan's Guard House Square, in which two members of the Basij force and a police officer, Esmaeil Cheraghi, Mohsen Hamidi, and Mohammad Karimi, were killed.

Majid Kazemi, Saleh Mirhashemi, and Saeed Yaqoubi were among those arrested in these protests. They were accused of "engaging in war by drawing weapons, forming and leading a group with the intention of disrupting the security of the country and society, and collusion" and sentenced to death by Morteza Barati, head of Branch 1 of the Isfahan Revolutionary Court.

The forced confessions made by the three defendants in the Isfahan house have seriously threatened them with execution, but audio files that were previously published on social media indicated the innocence of the three and it was revealed that the regime's own forces killed the Basij forces and the police officer. Also, audio files released by the defendants from prison indicate that the confessions were forced under torture.

In the reports that have been revealed about the Isfahan House case, there is no evidence to prove the accusations of the three defendants.

According to the Dadban Legal Counseling and Training Center, which recently received the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance and the Supreme Court regarding the Isfahan House case, it shows obvious contradictions and flaws in the case and is evidence of the falsehood of the charges against the detained protesters.

Also, CCTV cameras in the Khaneh area of Isfahan show that the three individuals were not present when the regime forces were killed and that they arrived at the scene more than an hour after the incident. But now, by broadcasting videos of the forced confessions of Majid Kazemi, Saeed Yaqoubi, and Saleh Mirhashemi, the state media intends to pave the way for the execution of these three individuals.

As previously mentioned, the confessions of these three were obtained under severe torture and threats of arrest of their families. Prince Reza Pahlavi also reacted to the threat of execution of the three by posting their photos on his personal Instagram page, writing: “The lives of Saeed Yaghoubi, Saleh Mirhashemi, and Majid Kazemi are in immediate danger. In these moments when the worried families of these three protesting prisoners are protesting in front of Dastgar Prison in Isfahan, I call on my compatriots in Isfahan and nearby cities to join them. Let us not allow the young killer Zahhak and his agents to take more innocent lives and make other mothers mourn.”
