US Treasury Department announces new sanctions against IRGC Quds Force and other terrorist groups

The US Treasury Department announced new sanctions on Tuesday, September 9, against "a broad spectrum of terrorists and their supporters."
The ministry issued a statement announcing that, in light of the expanded legal tools it has at its disposal to combat terrorism, it is imposing sanctions on several individuals, including an official of the IRGC's Quds Force named "Mohammad Saeed Izadi."
The US State Department says that Yazidi is an official of the IRGC's Quds Force and is based in Lebanon.
The sanctions also include “Zahir Jabarian,” a direct liaison between Hamas and the IRGC’s Quds Force. The Treasury Department says Jabarian, who is based in Turkey, is the head of Hamas’s finance office and is focused on increasing financial aid from Iran.
The Treasury Department has also sanctioned an official at the Redin exchange in Türkiye, saying the exchange plays a key role in transferring money from Iran to Hamas.
According to the Treasury Department, the exchange was involved in transferring several million dollars from Iran and Hezbollah to Hamas.
The Treasury Department also announced other sanctions that day, including ISIS and some other terrorist groups.
