Evin Prison: 4 detained union and labor activists continue to be detained and denied visits

HRANA News Agency – Hassan Saeedi, Rasoul Badaghi, Mohammad Habibi and Anisha Asadollahi, trade union and labor activists, are still being held in Evin Prison in detention and uncertainty. Today, Thursday, July 20, despite the families of these citizens visiting the Evin Prosecutor’s Office, the prosecutor’s office officials prevented these detained citizens from meeting with their families.

According to HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Hassan Saeedi, Rasoul Badaghi, Mohammad Habibi, and Anisha Asadollahi, trade union and labor activists, are still being held in Evin Prison in detention and uncertainty.

Today, Thursday, July 20, 2022, despite the families of Hassan Saeedi, Rasoul Badaghi, Mohammad Habibi, and Anisha Asadollahi, detained union and labor activists, visiting the Evin Prosecutor's Office, the prosecutor's office officials prevented the families of these citizens from meeting with them.

Khadija Pakzamir, wife of Mohammad Habibi, wrote on her personal page: “Today, I went to Evin to visit with a number of families of imprisoned loved ones. But they said that Mohammad and other imprisoned teachers and labor activists are still banned from visiting. We took some books to give to our imprisoned loved ones, but they did not take the books from us.”

Also, Mr. Habibi's family was previously told by Evin Prosecutor's Office that his arrest warrant has been extended for the third consecutive month.

Hassan Saeedi, who was arrested by security forces at his home on May 18 and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention center in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, is on the 27th day of his hunger strike.

Mr. Habibi and Mr. Badaghi were transferred to solitary confinement in Ward 240 of Evin Prison on Tuesday, June 14. They were arrested on May 1 and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention center known as Ward 209 of Evin Prison.

Labor activist Anisha Asadollahi was also arrested by security agents in May of this year and is currently being held in limbo in Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
