Two civilians killed and injured in munitions explosion in western Gilan

HRANA News Agency – Today, Thursday, September 14, two citizens were killed and injured by a bullet left over from the Iran-Iraq war in western Gilan.

HRANA News Agency reports, citing Fars, that today, Thursday, September 14, 1401, the governor of Western Gilan announced the injury and death of two citizens due to the explosion of a bullet left over from the Iran-Iraq war in this city.

Regarding the incident, Vahid Mohammadi said: “The explosion of an unexploded bullet from the war killed a 32-year-old man and injured his mother, a 65-year-old woman.”

He added: “The injured have been transferred to medical centers for treatment.”

Ordnance or mines left over from the war cause the death and injury of a number of compatriots in border areas every year.

It should be noted that every year many citizens die or suffer amputations as a result of exploding devices left over from the war.
