IRGC announces attack on “headquarters of Ahvaz attack perpetrators” in Syria

The Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had targeted the headquarters of the perpetrators of the Ahvaz terrorist attack, east of the Euphrates River in Syria, with several surface-to-surface ballistic missiles. The missiles were reportedly launched from Kermanshah.
The Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in a statement that in response to the recent terrorist attacks in Ahvaz, “six medium-range ballistic missiles were launched from the IRGC Aerospace Force missile bases in the west of the country” towards the east of the Euphrates in Syria. The missile attack took place at 2:00 AM on Monday, October 1.
According to the announcement, in this operation, which has been named "Moharram Strike," "seven combat drones" were also used to target "terrorist" positions.
In its statement, the Revolutionary Guards announced the killing and wounding of "a large number of Takfiri terrorists."
The Fars news agency reported that the missiles fired were of the Zolfaqar and Qiyam types, which Iranian officials said had ranges of 750 kilometers and 800 kilometers, respectively. The news agency published a picture of one of the missiles before launch, with the slogans “Death to America, Death to Israel, and Death to the House of Saud” written on it.
Domestic news agencies have published videos of the moment these missiles were launched on Twitter, writing that these missiles were launched from Kermanshah towards Syrian territory.
At the end of its statement, the IRGC emphasized that "the security of the Iranian nation is the red line of the armed forces" and that it will not leave any "evil and mischief of the enemies" unanswered.
The Ahvaz attack, which took place on Saturday, September 21, killed 25 people, including civilians who were watching a military parade. The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack a day after the attack, releasing a video of the people it identified as the Ahvaz attackers.
In a speech, the Iranian leader called the attackers of the Ahvaz terrorist attack "cowardly elements" and threatened that Iran would "deal a severe blow" to the perpetrators of the incident.
The IRGC also targeted Deir Ezzor, located in eastern Syria, in a missile operation in June last year. A statement issued by the IRGC Aerospace Force at the time said that the missile operation was carried out with the aim of “punishing criminal terrorists and avenging deadly attacks” on one of the buildings of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini.
The attack, which took place on June 8, 2017, killed 17 people. The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
In this operation, according to the IRGC’s announcement at the time, six medium-range surface-to-surface missiles were launched from IRGC bases in Kermanshah and Kurdistan provinces towards Deir Ezzor. A few days after the missile attack, the IRGC said that “more than 170 Takfiri terrorists” were killed in these attacks and “heavy losses were inflicted on their equipment, facilities and systems.”
