Elderly woman beaten by cleric in Sheshlo village

An elderly woman was beaten by a cleric in the village of Sheshlou, in Langrud County.

Videos have been posted on social media showing a cleric beating an elderly woman. A cleric in the village of Sheshlo, Langrud County, Gilan Province, entered the woman's private property, broke down the fence of her yard, and beat her when she protested.

The mullah in question, whose identity has been confirmed as "Saifullah Gohari", is in charge of the ideological department of one of the departments in Langrud city.

When government clerics and soldiers are immune from any prosecution or punishment for the crimes they commit, it is not far-fetched to expect that a cleric holding even a minor position would allow himself to use his clothes to touch and beat a woman, while they themselves declare that touching a non-mahram woman is considered a sin.
