Establishment of the World Coalition of Iranian Christians

A gathering of Iranian Christian leaders and activists in England marks the establishment of a global Christian coalition.
A gathering was held in England in April of this year, attended by over 180 Iranian Christian leaders and activists, as a result of which, on Friday, June 19, a statement was published establishing the World Coalition of Iranian Christians, which discussed the fundamental principles and reasons for the formation of this coalition.
The members participating in this coalition are from various church denominations, including church leaders, organization officials, and Christian activists. Mehrdad Fatehi, Sasan Tavassoli, Kamil Navai, Anahita Parsan, Mansour Borji, Omid Moludi, and Atiyeh Fard are members of the board of directors of this global coalition of Iranian Christians.
The fundamental principles of this statement include: “representing and defending the rights of Iranian Christians,” “promoting justice, freedom, equality, and human dignity,” and “continuing support for the right to religious freedom for Iranian Christians.” The reason for the formation of this coalition is also in response to “the urgent need for solidarity, broader cooperation, and a united voice among Iranian Christian communities.”
The text of the said statement is as follows:
"We, the members of the board of directors of the "World Coalition of Iranian Christians", citing the provisions of the charter of this coalition and based on the official vote of the Constituent Assembly on April 4, 2025, officially announce the establishment of this international, non-governmental and voluntary institution. At a conference held in the United Kingdom on the aforementioned date, more than 180 leaders of the Iranian Christian community from around the world, realizing the need for solidarity, strengthening cooperation and having a single voice among Iranian Christian communities, and relying on the teachings of the Bible and the principles of the true Christian faith, agreed to form this coalition.
The World Alliance of Iranian Christians, as an international confederation consisting of Iranian Christian churches, organizations, and individuals, has begun its activities with common goals such as strengthening cooperation and synergy, representing and defending the rights of Iranian Christians, promoting justice, freedom, equality, respect for human dignity, and safeguarding sound Christian teachings within the framework of the members' shared values.
Headquartered in London, UK, and with the possibility of establishing regional offices in other parts of the world, this coalition is committed to the following principles:
1. Full adherence to the teachings and values of the Christian faith
2. Respect for the independence and diversity of member institutions and operate within the framework of voluntary and non-binding participation.
3. Effective and continuous support for the religious rights and freedoms of Iranian Christians at the national, regional, and international levels
4. Strengthening cooperation and constructive dialogue between Iranian Christian churches and institutions in the national and global arenas
5. Playing an active role in fulfilling the church's mission of effectively serving surrounding communities.
The organizational structure of the coalition will include the "Congress" as the supreme decision-making authority, the "Board of Directors" as the executive body, and "Specialized Commissions" as the operational arms. All activities will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the approved statute and with full transparency and accountability.
This statement is considered the official announcement of the existence and commencement of the "World Coalition of Iranian Christians" and, from the date of issuance, can be relied upon by all relevant institutions, colleagues, and audiences.
"With hope for a bright future and effective collaboration in the service of Christ, the Church, and society."
