MP Alireza Beigi: Do you expect the parliament to stand up to the corruption of Debesh tea?

In a speech, MP Alireza Beigi announced that the parliament, 180 of whose members were heads of Raisi's election campaigns, would not stand against the corruption of Chai Debesh.
Ahmad Alireza Beigi, a representative of the people of Tabriz, while referring to the performance of the 11th Parliament, says: "Reviewing the performance of the Parliament requires its own categories. First, the performance of the 11th Parliament, during the Rouhani government, and then the performance of the Parliament during the Ebrahim Raisi government, had two different functions in these two periods. The Rouhani government made promises in the 11th Parliament, which came to power after the November 2019 events, none of which were fulfilled. This Parliament came to power with slogans such as transparency, solving the problem of inflation, solving the problems of the stock market, etc., but due to the weakness of the 11th Parliament, no effort was made to solve these problems. For example, to follow up on the problems of the stock market, the President or the Minister of Economy, etc. never appeared in the Parliament to explain the reasons for the problems. The problems were not paid attention to in other supervisory departments either."
He continued his speech about the 12th government, saying: "At the end of the 12th government, not only was there no improvement in the performance of the 11th parliament, but measures were taken that were perhaps unprecedented in the parliamentary history of Iran. 220 members of parliament called on Ebrahim Raisi to run in the elections. 250 members of parliament called on Raisi's rivals to withdraw from the election marathon so that he could win more votes. Most importantly, 180 members of parliament became the heads of Raisi's election campaign in their constituencies. This situation shows the depth of affection and prejudice that the parliament had towards the Raisi government. This caused the parliament to withdraw from its oversight and accountability of the government. People expected the parliament to have precise oversight and proper guidance on the path of progress, but this was accompanied by shortcomings."
Alireza Beigi, while pointing out that the parliament is never willing to question the government's wrong practices and wrong decisions, added: "Many incidents have occurred, one of which was the disaster of importing Debesh tea. The general expectation was that when the government's first mistakes occurred regarding the fruit on Eid (which caused the Minister of Agriculture to be given a yellow card) and then the incident of registering orders for livestock institutions that practically did not exist and only billions of people's money were taken, and... due attention should have been paid to the mismanagement of the Ministry of Agriculture so that the disaster of importing tea would not occur. However, the parliament, in its supervisory capacity, despite discussing the supervisory Tuesdays very pompously, practically did not produce any specific output for the benefit of the people."
