Judiciary's proposed bill regarding chastity and hijab

The government spokesman informed the government of the Judiciary's bill regarding chastity and hijab, with two urgent conditions.

Government spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi told reporters at a cabinet meeting this morning, Wednesday, May 17: "Today, the cabinet reviewed and approved the bill proposed by the judiciary regarding chastity and hijab, and sent it to the parliament."

This bill was prepared and drafted with 9 articles by the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Judiciary in mid-May, in line with pressure from authorities to deal with women regarding mandatory hijab observance. After approval by the Judiciary Presidency, it was sent to the government.

Ali Jahromi also added in his speech: "This bill will be submitted to the parliament with two urgent conditions so that it can be dealt with quickly there. Expert opinions have been presented in the government's specialized commission on this bill, which will be submitted to the Islamic Consultative Assembly as an attachment."
