Elizabeth Stickney: We are not seeking war with Iran, all sides should exercise restraint

US State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Stickney said: "We are not seeking war with Iran and we urge all parties to exercise restraint."
Elizabeth Stickney, regional spokesperson for the US State Department, responded to a question by "Eram News" about the possibility of conflict between Iran and the United States, saying: "We are not seeking war and we call on all parties to exercise restraint in order to avoid escalating the situation and dragging it into a wider conflict."
He also added, regarding whether the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh could lead to an end to the prisoner exchange talks: "Our negotiators are working diligently to close the gaps in the talks, and completing the prisoner exchange agreement and ending the violence remains of great importance to us, and we have a team in the region that continues their efforts in this direction."
Elizabeth Stickney continued, regarding concerns about a possible Iranian and Hezbollah attack in response to the two recent assassinations: “We were not aware of the assassinations and were not involved in them. We do not want to speculate on Iran’s actions in response to these two attacks and we urge all parties to exercise restraint to prevent the escalation of tensions into a wider conflict.”
He also added about the possibility of a confrontation between Iran and the United States: "Avoiding an all-out war in the region begins with an agreement on a ceasefire, and achieving it requires all parties to stop provoking tensions and seek reasons for an agreement, not reasons for delaying or rejecting it."
