14-year-old Masoumeh dies after being raped in prison

Masoumeh, a 14-year-old girl who had removed her headscarf at school as a sign of protest, lost her life after being arrested and raped in prison.

Sexual assaults on men, women, and even children in the prisons of the Islamic Republic have reached their peak in recent days of protests. Crimes that cannot be justified anywhere in the world.

According to the New York Times, which reported to the Iran Human Rights Campaign, 14-year-old Masoumeh, who lived in a poor neighborhood in Tehran, had removed her headscarf in protest at school. She was arrested after being identified by the school's surveillance cameras.

Immediately after her arrest, Masoumeh was taken to the hospital due to a severe vaginal laceration, where she died.

News published on social media about this Islamic State crime indicates that Masoumeh's mother has disappeared after exposing the sexual assault of her daughter by security forces.

In the past, a number of victims of sexual violence told CNN that in some cases, police and security forces took photos and videos of them while raping them to force them to remain silent.

Shouldn't the Islamic Republic regime, which continues to kill, suppress, rape, and beat its own people, even children, in order to preserve its monarchy, be tried in international courts? When will they be held accountable for all these crimes?
