Wall Street Journal: Israel to attack Iran on Monday

The Wall Street Journal reported on American officials' predictions regarding Israel's attack on Iran on Monday.

"The Wall Street Journal," citing informed sources, wrote: "American and Western officials predict that Israel will respond quickly to the Islamic Republic's attacks by Monday, April 17."

In the air warning issued by the Civil Aviation Organization yesterday, Sunday, April 16, flights at Imam Khomeini, Mehrabad, Shiraz, Isfahan, Bushehr, and airports in the west of the country were canceled until 6 a.m. on Monday. According to Mehr News Agency this morning, based on the Civil Aviation Organization's instructions issued yesterday, the status of Tehran International Airport has changed to normal from 6 a.m. and Mehrabad from 5:30 a.m.

The Israeli army also announced, a day after announcing the closure of schools due to Iranian attacks, that schools in the country would resume operations on Monday. The Israeli army also acknowledged that after assessing the situation, it had decided to reopen schools across the country, but schools in areas along the northern border with Lebanon or near the Gaza Strip would reopen with restrictions due to the possibility of renewed attacks.

So far, Iran's attacks on Israel have been unsuccessful, with the United States and Israel intercepting and destroying a large number of missiles and drones, totaling over 300. According to published reports, the attacks have so far caused no casualties and only 12 injuries.

In response to the Islamic Republic's ineffective attack on Israel and the injury of a seven-year-old girl, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett wrote on his X account: "The cowardly Khamenei hit her. We have always fought with the octopus's arms and have rarely had to pay for its head in Tehran, but if Hezbollah and Hamas fire rockets at Israel, Tehran will have to pay the price."

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also reacted to these attacks, pointing out that Iran's failed attack on Israel was unjustifiable, writing: "I reject all of these so-called justifications from the Islamic Republic. If this attack had been successful, like the Hamas attack, it would have led to brutal massacres in Israel and put the lives of innocent civilians at risk."

He called the Islamic Republic an irresponsible actor, adding: "Violating laws and threatening international security, supporting Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis and their terrorist actions, indicate the Islamic Republic's very destructive influence in the region. The human rights situation in Iran is also a cause for concern. When the Islamic Republic uses the police to arrest women for inappropriate clothing, it is considered a gross violation of citizens' rights."
