Pope Francis: The Middle East should choose the path of dialogue and peace

Pope Francis, the leader of the world's Catholics, called on the Middle East to choose the path of dialogue and peace to stop the war.

In his speech on Sunday, Pope Francis, referring to the Israel-Gaza war and the outbreak of war in the Middle East, called on authorities in the Middle East to choose the path of dialogue and diplomacy. He emphasized in his speech: "Once again, I ask you not to surrender to logic and war, but to take the paths of dialogue and diplomacy."

He also noted that he would support an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the start of peace talks between the two sides.

Pope Francis once again called for unrestricted access to humanitarian aid in Gaza, without condemning the crimes committed in the war.
