Iranian police announce the killing of "four armed villains" affiliated with ISIS

Iranian police say they have killed four people they say were "armed thugs" in the city of Rudan in Hormozgan province. Images released show an ISIS flag and other paraphernalia seized from them.
Azizollah Maleki, commander of the Hormozgan provincial police force, told reporters on Monday, June 12, that following "intelligence measures and monitoring of existing news regarding the movement of an armed group of criminals in the eastern parts of Hormozgan province," on Sunday evening, police officers "encountered a four-member team of these criminals in the mountains surrounding the city of Rudan and killed them all after an armed clash."
According to him, "During the inspection of these killed individuals, four combat weapons, 112 combat cartridges, quantities of explosives, and a flag with the ISIS logo were discovered."
According to ISNA news agency, Mr. Maleki identified two of these individuals as "foreign nationals with foreign identification cards" but did not mention their nationality.
The Hormozgan provincial police commander added that "the identities of the other individuals are under investigation."
At the same time, the Chief Justice of Hormozgan Province said that "five ISIS-related agents were arrested in the port of Jask."
According to Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Sadeq Akbari stated: "In recent days, five members of the ISIS terrorist group were arrested in Bandar Jask and sent to prison with a temporary detention order."
The judicial official in Hormozgan province added: "The case of these individuals is under investigation and a final verdict will be issued against them in the near future."
Following the attacks on June 8 by two armed groups on the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in southern Tehran and the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Baharestan Square, security measures in Iran have been tightened, and the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence has announced the arrest of 43 people within three days.
The attacks on these two religious and political bases of the Islamic Republic killed 18 people and injured more than 50. Iranian security forces say that five of the attackers were killed in clashes with officers.
Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi announced on Sunday that the mastermind and commander of the attacks had been killed outside Iran's borders with the help of what he called "a friendly and cooperative intelligence service."
He did not provide further details on this matter.
According to Iran's intelligence minister, Tehran has targeted about 100 teams of what he described as "terrorists" in the past three years. Mr. Alavi announced that attempts to carry out terrorist acts in Iran have recently intensified.
Hours before the Iranian Minister of Intelligence's interview, the Tehran Police Information Center had also announced the discovery of the vehicle of the attackers of the Tehran attacks.
The Islamic State group (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for these attacks by releasing statements and videos and has threatened to carry out more attacks against Iranians .
Islamic Republic officials say they will respond harshly to these attacks.
In the latest comments on this subject, Mohammad Bagheri, the Commander of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, in a message to the memorial ceremony for those killed in the recent attacks in Tehran, warned those he called "terrorists and their supporters" and threatened them with what he called "new unforgettable lessons."
