Pentagon releases first images of raid on Baghdadi hideout

Five days after the US military operation against the leader of ISIS, the Pentagon released images taken from the video of the operation. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed during the operation. Explanations about the operation have also been made public.
The images released by the US Department of Defense are scenes from a video produced by US special forces during a military operation against Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the "Islamic State" (ISIS).
In this regard, the Pentagon has also provided the media with explanations about how the ISIS leader was killed.
On Thursday, October 31, the German news agency published a report from Washington detailing the US military operation against Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The images released by US Department of Defense officials are the first images of this operation to be made public.
Explanations about military operations
The black-and-white images, all taken from footage from the operation, show US special forces approaching the wall surrounding the compound where Baghdadi was hiding.
On Sunday night, October 27, American soldiers flew over the compound by helicopter from a US military base in Syria. The images show a relatively empty courtyard of a building complex.
The German news agency reported that the walls surrounding the complex, located a few kilometers from the Turkish border, were destroyed by the bomb within seconds.
What happened inside the building after the American soldiers entered is not visible in these images.
The images also show the complex before and after the operation. It is said that US military forces completely destroyed the complex after the operation ended.
The news website "Spiegel Online" also published a report quoting General Kenneth McKenzie, commander of CENTCOM, who wrote about this operation that after its complete destruction, the complex had become a parking lot with numerous holes and cavities.
The commander of the US Central Command in the Middle East stated that in addition to the leader of ISIS, five other members of the group's forces were also killed. McKenzie also announced that two other ISIS members were captured. In addition, US military forces managed to save the lives of eleven children.
The CENTCOM commander has said that the US military operation against Baghdadi's hideout was a "difficult, complex and precise" operation.
