Tehran Metro workers gather to protest livelihood problems and uncertain job status

A group of workers in Tehran and Assaluyeh gathered to protest mass dismissals, poor living conditions, and non-payment of their demands.
According to ILNA news agency, service workers on Tehran's urban train line 1, numbering 250, protested on Sunday, June 25, against what they say is the uncertainty of their job and wage status following the contractor's withdrawal.
In addition to wages, these workers are entitled to insurance and annuities.
A number of operations and fluids workers of the National Iranian Drilling Company in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (Asalovia) also gathered to protest their dismissal.
According to them, over the past few days, the company's employer has fired a number of workers, each of whom has several months of unpaid wages, under various pretexts, including the end of their employment contracts and lack of need.
It is said that the number of laid-off workers from the National Drilling Company is about six hundred.
