ISIS leader confirmed killed in Afghanistan

US and Afghan military officials confirmed on Sunday reports that the leader of the ISIS group in Afghanistan was killed during a joint operation in Nangarhar province.
"Sheikh Abdul-Haseeb, the emir of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and the Khorasan Province in Afghanistan, was killed in a joint US-Afghan operation," the US military said in a statement.
The statement added that dozens of Afghan and American special forces participated in a joint attack on ISIS caves and tunnel network in the Achin district of Nangarhar province, which resulted in the killing of Abdul Hasib and 35 of his companions.
Abdul-Haseeb was the one who ordered the attack on the Sardar Mohammad Dawood military hospital in March, which killed 51 people. At the time, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.
