Another person arrested during the November 2019 protests was sentenced to prison and flogging.

Ayoub Shiri, one of the detainees from the November 2019 protests, has been sentenced to prison and flogging by the Tabriz Criminal Court.
On Monday, July 29, Ayub Shiri announced on his Instagram page, by publishing the verdict issued by the Second Criminal Court of Tabriz, that this verdict was issued to him while a case was being prepared and even the authorities issuing the verdict knew that he had not committed any crime.
According to the above verdict, Mr. Shiri has been sentenced to one year in prison and 74 lashes on the charge of "disturbing public order and peace." It should be noted that the execution of the sentence has been suspended for one year.
Ayub Shiri, pointing out that he has not committed any act that would indicate a disruption of public order, says, "These will be recorded in history, and God willing, there will come a time when they will be held accountable for each and every one of their actions, and if that does not happen, then there must be no God."
According to available information, Ayoub Shiri was arrested on Sunday, November 16, 2019, following a raid by Tabriz Intelligence Department agents at his workplace. After completing the interrogation and explanation of charges, on March 27 of the same year, he was temporarily released from Tabriz Central Prison after posting a bail of 600 million Tomans until the end of the trial.
This is not the first time that the Islamic Republic has sentenced one of the detainees of the November 2019 protests to prison. Previously, the Voice of America had announced in several reports that some of the detainees of these protests had been sentenced to long prison terms.
Protests over the increase in gasoline prices began on Friday, November 14, in various cities in Iran, including Mashhad, Khuzestan, Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, and Behbahan, and gradually spread to all regions of the country.
The United States says the Islamic Republic is spending its wealth, rather than the Iranian people, on supporting terrorist groups and destabilizing the Middle East. The United States has also repeatedly condemned the institutionalized financial corruption and looting of Iran's God-given assets by regime affiliates, calling them among the main causes of Iran's economic and financial problems.
