Death Sentences of 15 Inmates Carried Out in Various Iranian Prisons

Hrana News Agency – This morning, death sentences of at least 15 inmates who had previously been condemned to execution on charges related to drug trafficking crimes and murder were carried out in prisons in Damghan, Chabahar, Mashhad, Bushehr, Shahrekord, Boukan, Behbahan, Bojnord, Mahshahr, Sari, Ferdos, Kasmar, Esfarayen, Taibad, and Gonnabad.
According to Hrana news agency, the news outlet of the human rights activists collective in Iran, at least 15 inmates were executed in various prisons across the country.
The identities of these inmates who were hanged this morning on Thursday, February 5, 2026, have been confirmed by Hrana as: Fariborz Mehri, Hojjat Mansouri, Eskandar Pashtkari, Mehram Abdi, Parham Fardousi, Kosha Moradi, Shervin Yari, Ayoub Mashhadi, Hamed Nik-Taj, Muslim Almasi, Amir-Hossein Norouzi, Muradhassan (surname unknown), Houman Momeni, Khanmrad Azizi, and Jafar Shehri.
According to information received by Hrana, Fariborz Mehri in Damghan Prison, Hojjat Mansouri in Chabahar Prison, Eskandar Pashtkari in Mashhad Prison, Mehram Abdi in Bushehr Prison, Parham Fardousi in Shahrekord Prison, Kosha Moradi in Boukan Prison, Shervin Yari in Behbahan Prison, Ayoub Mashhadi in Bojnord Prison, Hamed Nik-Taj in Mahshahr Prison, and Muslim Almasi in Sari Prison were executed. These inmates had previously been arrested on murder charges and were subsequently sentenced to death by criminal courts.
Additionally, Amir-Hossein Norouzi in Ferdos Prison, Muradhassan (surname unknown) in Kasmar Prison, Houman Momeni in Esfarayen Prison, Khanmrad Azizi in Taibad Prison, and Jafar Shehri in Gonnabad Prison were hanged on charges related to drug trafficking crimes.
As of the time this report was prepared, the executions of these inmates had not been formally announced by prison authorities and relevant institutions.
Based on the annual report on the human rights situation in Iran, published by the statistics, publication, and works unit of the human rights activists collective in Iran, during the one-year period from January 1, 2025 to January 1, 2026, at least 2,063 people were executed in Iran. On this basis, the execution of death sentences increased by 119 percent compared to 2024. In many of these executions, due to concealment, inmates were even deprived of the right to a final visit with their families.
