Statement from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic in London Regarding the International Investment Expo in Isfahan

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic in London announced the holding of the first international investment expo in Isfahan through the publication of a statement.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London released a statement in which it invited Iranians residing in Britain to register for participation in this expo if they are interested in investing in Isfahan.

Expo is derived from the word Exposition and refers to world exhibitions that emerged in the mid-nineteenth century and is an event held once every five years, each time in a different country. The importance of this exhibition and its consequences and outcomes for countries around the world are so valuable that today expos are the third most important event in the world after the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games, and have been given the title “the Olympics of Nations’ Culture.”

This exhibition is a gateway for showcasing the past, present, and future of countries in which social, economic, scientific achievements, cultural heritage, and development prospects of countries are displayed. Hosting an Expo exhibition is very beneficial for the economic, social, and infrastructure development of host cities and for international trade and cooperation. Therefore, all member countries of the “International Exhibitions Bureau” (BIE) wish to host this exhibition. To date, approximately 60 expos have been held in 24 cities, and now the city of Isfahan will host the International Investment Expo on the 28th and 29th of Khordad in the current year (1404).

This is the first international investment expo of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture of Isfahan, which will be held with the aim of introducing investment opportunities in this province. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London has also released a statement with the goal of promoting and encouraging Iranians residing in Britain, so that those interested can participate in this expo.

The embassy’s statement reads: “Given the importance of transferring knowledge, capital, and international experiences of Iranians residing abroad, all Iranians residing in Britain who are interested in investing in Iran, particularly in the beautiful and historical province of Isfahan, are invited to participate in this investment conference. It should be noted that all accommodation and hospitality expenses for invitees during the conference will be provided by the host.”

Whether the Embassy of the Islamic Republic in other countries has also taken steps to publish statements and encourage Iranians abroad to invest in Iran or not, there is no information available. However, speculation suggests that due to the grave economic situation in Iran, recent strikes, and the collapse of the economy, officials have decided to hold an investment expo in Isfahan, for the first time, and invite Iranians abroad to bring their capital to Iran in hopes of helping Iran’s lost economy somewhat and, on the other hand, prolonging their own rule.

But the question is whether Iranians residing abroad will bring their capital to Iran or will they unite with the people of Iran to first overthrow the regime and then invest their capital in Iran to build a new nation?
