“Parsa Qabadi”: Suffering from Brain Hemorrhage Complications Due to Torture During Arrest

“Parsa Qabadi,” one of those detained during nationwide protests, reported complications from brain hemorrhage resulting from torture during his arrest.

Parsa Qabadi, now 19 years old, was shot with buckshot pellets in Kermanshah during the nationwide protests that began following Mahsa Amini’s death, and his eyesight in both eyes was severely damaged. He traveled to Germany several months ago for treatment.

After Parsa was admitted to a hospital in Hamburg, Germany, and according to physicians’ statements, he discovered blood clots in his brain that resulted from torture during his arrest.

On June 8, Parsa posted a message on his Instagram page stating: “I was arrested on May 2, 2023. On the first and second day, they chained my right foot and hung me from the ceiling, and after two hours of torture, they repeatedly released the chain and struck my head against the ground from a distance, causing internal bleeding, and now I have several blood clots inside my brain.”

He stated that a total of approximately 10 buckshot pellets hit his eyes, causing the destruction of the cornea, pupils, and retina in both eyes.

Nearly two years have passed since the start of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, and the detention and torture of protesters by the Islamic Republic system continues, with the number of system opponents and protesters injured by the regime and its agents increasing every day.
