Joe Biden and First Lady of America Congratulate Nowruz

Joe Biden, President of the United States, and Jill Biden, First Lady of America, congratulated the arrival of Nowruz on Sunday, March 20, by issuing a joint message.
Mr. Biden previously stated in a tweet: “Jill and I wish the very best to everyone celebrating Nowruz around the world. Nowruz means gathering around the Haft-Sin table to express gratitude for those you love, to reflect on blessings, and to welcome all the opportunities of the new season. Happy Nowruz.”
The full text of the written message from Joe Biden and his wife is as follows:
“Jill and I wish the very best to everyone celebrating Nowruz today in the United States and around the world – including in Iran and throughout the Middle East, in Central and South Asia, in the Caucasus, and in Europe.
The occasion of Nowruz brings family and friends together around a table to be grateful for our loved ones, to count our blessings, to share meals and gifts, to reflect on the year that has passed, and to welcome the arrival of spring and the fresh opportunities of the new season.
The spirit of new beginnings and the joy of Nowruz are reflected in our own Haft-Sin table here at the White House, representing our hopes for the new year. This is a recognition and celebration of the vibrant cultures and friendships of many of our diaspora communities in America who provide extraordinary service every day and strengthen the fabric of our nation.
To everyone celebrating Nowruz: Happy holidays! We wish you a blessed Nowruz.”
Anthony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State, also congratulated the arrival of the year 1401 on the same day and expressed hope that “the new year will be a sign of the end of great and small hardships.”
Stating that “Nowruz is an opportunity to reflect on the past while simultaneously renewing hope for the new season ahead,” he said: As Hafez sings about spring:
The breeze of morning will scatter musk,
The old world will again become young.
