Sanandaj; 3 Citizens Arrested Following Nowruz Ceremony

Hrana News Agency – On Monday, the first day of Farvardin month, following a security forces raid on a Nowruz ceremony in Sanandaj, three organizers of the event named Sohrab Jalali, Jamal Asadi, and Foad Enayati were arrested.

According to Hrana News Agency, citing Kordpa, on Monday, the first of Farvardin 1401, three citizens in Sanandaj were arrested by security forces.

Based on this report, the identities of these citizens were identified as Sohrab Jalali, Jamal Asadi, and Foad Enayati.

The arrest of these individuals followed a security forces raid on the Nowruz ceremony.

As of the time of reporting this news, there is no information available regarding the detention location of these citizens.

Foad Enayati was arrested in Mehr month 1398, during protest gatherings related to regional developments, along with two other citizens named “Faramarz Shariati” and “Mobin Khosravi,” and was temporarily released after completing the interrogation and depositing a bail of 300 million tomans.

He was subsequently convicted by Branch 104 of the Criminal Court of Sanandaj, presided over by Judge “Amidi,” on charges of disturbing public order and peace through participation in unlawful gatherings, to 10 months of punitive imprisonment and 74 lashes, and was later convicted by the Kurdistan Province Court of Appeals to two years of suspended imprisonment.

On Monday, the 6th of Mordad 1399, his flogging sentence was carried out by Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Court.

Jamal Asadi was also summoned and interrogated on Tuesday, the 17th of Esfand of the previous year, along with a number of citizens by the Information Protection of Sanandaj Police Force.
