“18 Days Without News” on Fate of Civil Activist Detained in Kurdistan Province

Civil activists in Kurdistan Province have reported that there has been no news for 18 days about the fate of Kezhel Naseri, a civil activist who was detained by security forces in Tangsir village, Sanandaj city.

The human rights website “Hengaw” reported that the Sanandaj Intelligence Office arrested Ms. Naseri, 26 years old, on December 21 without presenting any court order. Despite her father’s several visits to the Intelligence Office, he has so far been unable to visit or contact his daughter by phone.

No information has yet been released about the reasons for the detention or the charges against this civil activist, but according to Hengaw website, Ms. Naseri was summoned by the Intelligence Office earlier this year and was interrogated for several hours.
